Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) management and leadership training is a great way to turn any informal learning into a recognised qualification through a course of study and assessment.
ABDO offers Level 5 courses in Management & Leadership, accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) who also assess and award the qualifications.
The qualification awarded by CMI is highly regarded.
Whilst studying, you also get membership of CMI and access to the support and materials that they offer including the fantastic ManagementDirect.
ABDO training is via e-learning, removing the need for time away from the business to complete study. There will be optional workshops to allow you to extend your knowledge.
The qualification can be completed at either a diploma or certificate level.
Course Duration
The course will take 10 months if you are studying for a Diploma and 3 months to study for one of the Certificates.
The next deadline for applications is 6 December 2024 with study commencing on 3 January 2025.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications required. However, due to the nature of study we do recommend that all applicants have English at GCSE level 4 (grade C).
There is an expectation that the learner will already be a manager/leader (or working towards such a role) with the ability to apply the skills and experience learned during their qualification.
Course Structure
The course and assessments will be delivered via a Learning Management System (LMS) and as such will be 100% online. Learners will need access to a computer plus internet to complete the course.
