ABDO Level 2 Adult Safeguarding course accredited by OFQUAL
Adult safeguarding is an important consideration in optical practice alongside child safeguarding. As we see more commissioned services involving dispensing opticians and contact lens opticians, and completion of an accredited adult safeguarding course is increasingly becoming a requirement for optical professionals.
The ABDO Adult Safeguarding course will introduce the relevant legislation and guidance to help support awareness of the essential aspects of adult safeguarding all optical professionals need to have in mind day-to-day, and how to appropriately manage and process any concerns that may arise.
The course consists of six modules with activities to complete as you progress. The approximate time to complete the course is four hours, but you can return to the course and it will resume where you left it. Please note you must complete the course on the same device or PC as this is not-transferable.
There is a final assessment for successful completion of the course, which will enable the provision of 2 non-interactive CPD points within the Professionalism and Communication learning domains. Your CPD certificate will be available within 10 working days in your personal membership area of the ABDO website.
In addition to your CPD certificate of completion you are able to download, print and or save a separate OFQUAL Level 2 certificate of completion which will be suitable for employment requirements.
The course will be updated regularly, and you should re-complete the course as refresher training every three years as a minimum.
