Introduction to Younger Optics

Younger Optics is a privately held lens caster. Younger delivers semi-finished lenses to over 2,000 Rx labs around the world every day.

Founded by Irving Rips in 1954 Younger is now run by his son David, to whom he sold the company in the 1970s.  Younger Optics is thought to be the largest privately held lens caster in the world today.

Younger’s main brands are: Trilogy® (made with Trivex®), NuPolar®, NuPolar® Infinite Grey®, NuPolar® Gradient®*, Camber®* , Transitions® DriveWear®* Transitions® poly composites*, Image and Adage, More information on Adage can be found  here.

(NB * where a patent is held)

Younger Optics does not offer an Rx service direct to eye care professionals or consumers online. Younger does not compete with its laboratory clients. Eye care professionals are free to choose their preferred privately-owned laboratory to access Younger lenses.

Younger Optics Europe supplies finished and semi-finished lenses into the UK labs direct. Younger and Camber lenses are available from wholesale labs throughout the UK and Ireland and are represented in the UK by Julian Wiles. Stock finished lenses are also available.

Contact your local laboratory for the complete range of powers and smaller blank sizes.
