The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has appointed Debbie McGill as its new Head of Policy and Public Affairs. Debbie has worked in optical policy for 12 years and has been ABDO Policy and Public Affairs officer since Feb 2018.
Debbie says, “I’m really pleased to accept this new position within ABDO. I will continue to deliver the policy aims and objectives to maintain, promote and develop the DO workforce, by identifying opportunities in line with service pathways and patient need. ABDO represents all dispensing and contact lens opticians throughout the UK independently and as part of the UK representative bodies where we work together to represent the whole of the optical profession. I look forward to continuing these relationships as I undertake my new position.”
Sir Anthony Garrett, General Secretary of ABDO says, “I am delighted that Debbie has taken on the enhanced role of Head of Policy and Public Affairs. Since joining ABDO Debbie has made a significant contribution to the work of the Association and she thoroughly deserves this new appointment.”
Any enquiries for Debbie can be sent to her at dmcgill@abdolondon.org.uk
