The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has now taken on the energy portfolio from the former Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). It aims to secure the UK’s long-term energy supply, bring down bills and halve inflation. As part of this it will work on delivering security of energy supply, ensuring properly functioning energy markets, encouraging greater energy efficiency and seizing the opportunities of net zero to lead the world in new green industries.
