Consultation on GOC business standards

ABDO is seeking its members’ views to frame its response to the recently launched GOC consultation on business regulation.

The consultation will run from the end of October up to 22 January 2025 and a presentation around their plans is available here.

Max Halford, ABDO clinical lead, says, “This consultation is an important opportunity to review the regulatory position of optical businesses providing restricted functions across the UK.  I am keen to gather the perspectives of members who are practice owners or working with in practice, to ensure our response truly reflects their views and concerns. The highest levels of patient care and protection is at the heart of the work dispensing opticians undertake and would welcome members thoughts on how this consultation can improve this”
