ABDO has secured Health Education England (HEE) funding for 200 contact lens opticians (CLOs) to attend both its Extended Services Day (ESD) and the subsequent final objective structured clinical examination (OSCE).
The next ESD will take place at the ABDO National Resource Centre in Birmingham on Monday 16 December from 10am to 4.30pm.
Funding is available on a first come, first served, basis. Once the HEE contribution is gone, the full cost of £190 for the ESD and £190 for the OSCE will apply. A £35 admin fee will apply for those who secure funding, which covers booking costs, a pre-event webinar, and lunch and refreshments on the practical day.
Delegates will need to have completed the online WOPEC modules before attending the ESD. A mandatory ESD webinar will also be held prior to the ESD, and details sent to registrants. The OSCE will run in the New Year (dates TBC).
Email any queries to ABDO clinical lead, Max Halford, at mhalford@abdo.org.uk
Once booked, email Molly Hayes at the NRC – mhayes@abdo.org.uk – with any dietary requirements.
Please note: At least six weeks’ notice is required for ESD cancellations. For the OSCE, at least four weeks’ notice is required. Fees will apply to any re-bookings. Resit fees will also apply depending on the number of stations to be retaken.
