The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has opened bookings for its second clinical conference.
The ABDO clinical conference will take place on Sunday 6 and Monday 7 October at the ABDO National Resource Centre (NRC), Birmingham, providing two opportunities for members to attend.
This year ABDO will also be running webinars, online peer reviews and journal club sessions alongside the hands-on clinical conference.
The 2024 conference themes are:
• paediatric dispensing
• myopia management
• acute eyecare for dispensing opticians
There are 24 interactive CPD points available across the whole hybrid conference, with 14 from the practical days at the ABDO NRC.
ABDO will be joined online by myopia management experts Professor Nicola Logan and Dr Kate Gifford; and running a paediatric practical workshop at the ABDO NRC will be ABDO’s own paediatric dispensing specialistDr Alicia Thompson.
Alex Webster, head of CPD, says, “We are excited to bring a range of lectures and workshops in clinical areas relevant to ABDO members using a hybrid delivery approach to enable greater access. This year we are thrilled to be able to bring experts in different areas of practice to offer the latest insights to support excellent patient care.”
