Press release: Specsavers Hearing Care commits to NRC venue for training in 2022

Specsavers has committed to hold its Hearing Care Assistant training at Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ NRC venue in Birmingham throughout 2022.

Laura Monaghan HCA Development Manager and Course Leader for Hearing Care Assistant/Audiology Practitioner Courses says, “Our BTEC Level 4 Hearing Care Assistant Diploma students will be returning to the ABDO NRC for their Practical Skills Lab 3-day workshops throughout 2022.

“The tutors and students find the versatile training spaces suit a wide variety of needs from clinical demonstrations and technical workshop style working to group discussion/tutorial environments.

“It is essential that the training venue for these events is accessible compliant with the clinical nature of the training sessions. Every student group is met with a consistently high standard of hygiene and functionality from both the Resource Centre and its able and hospitable events team.

“We utilise mock-up clinic rooms, soundproof areas, open spaces for lectures and practical work, all with good access to power supplies and technical support for all our hardware and devices. The spaces are comfortable, well-lit and ventilated.

“No other training or conference space has been able to consistently meet the same level of provision that we experience here. We are looking forward to another exciting year of engaging with our next generation of audiology clinicians.”

Mat Stringer, NRC Operations manager, says, “I’m thrilled to have Specsavers exclusively here at the NRC for 2022 for their HCA workshops. Being able to support each other and the development of their clinicians plus continuing our working relationship makes perfect sense and I hope we continue to work together for a very long time.”
