Why did the course appeal to you? 

I had been an unofficial manager within the organisation for a couple of years at the time of my qualifying as a dispensing optician and as the shop floor professional I find a lot of the staff members use me to bridge the gap between themselves and the directors.  

How did you find the course in terms of content, support, ease of study? 

I thought the course was put forward and run fantastically. Content was relevant and fairly easy to get through after initially getting my head around the referencing and the resources available.  

How did it help your current role? 

My improved knowledge base has allowed me to reduce the number of queries reaching the directors as I am now more equipped to deal with situations when they arise. 

Has it helped with your career aspirations? 

I will be looking to go on an do the Diploma once my work situation and other life goals have been achieved. I am certainly enjoying my job more now I can help more.  

What do you plan to do next? 

I will be looking to become an MCMI and then going onto the Diploma as soon as I can manage my time well enough to give it my full attention.  

Who would you recommend the course to? 

I would recommend the course to any and all professionals that have an interest in the management and leadership aspects of the jobs they are in. The course is also not optics specific, so it can give you more non-optics specific transferable  skills, that you could take into other industries if necessary.
