Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) is a national charity providing free vision care and glasses to those affected by homelessness.

Our vital opticians’ clinics are run by volunteer optometrists, dispensing opticians, clinic assistants and clinic managers, along with other local team members and are based in homeless day support centres. Our clinics are fully equipped and so there is no need to bring anything other than yourself.

Many of our volunteers help to run a clinic once a month which is usually a commitment of around 4-5 hours per month. Some are able to volunteer more frequently.

We may also have remote roles available in your area, catering for our equally important communications and/or administration needs.

We are looking for volunteer optometrists, dispensing opticians and clinic assistants for our clinics based in the following areas. In some areas, we are also looking to fill clinic manager positions, often undertaken by dispensing opticians:

London

Stratford

Brighton

Manchester

Leeds

Birmingham

Exeter

Gloucester

Bristol

Plymouth

Edinburgh
