100% Optical has launched the 2020 Future Series, a selection of debates, keynote presentations and discussions taking place at this year’s show at the ExCeL London, from 25-27 January.
Amongst the line-up of speakers will be dispensing opticians, Katie Memory and Jamie Ednay, who will discuss practice-building strategies.
Each discussion will look at the opportunities the future holds, including: how practices will change with advancements in technology; how independent opticians can be at the heart of the rebirth of the High Street; and how fashion and retail trends will evolve in the next decade.
The talks will take place at the seated catwalk area, and will feature a selection of key individuals from around the UK and around the world. Highlights include:
Leading intelligence provider Euromonitor will return to the show; Miles Agbanrin, a senior optical sector analyst, will demystify the strategic changes impacting eyewear retail and identify key threats and opportunities. This will be followed by a debate with optical retailers and designer Jason Kirk, and Katharina Schlager, the new CEO of Cazal, with a focus on increasing sales in a competitive marketplace.
Nathan Garnett, 100% Optical event director, commented: “We have a really strong line-up of companies this year displaying new products. Our catwalk show is always massively popular, and now we have added the 2020 Future Series we have some real practical insights and thought leadership. Our goal is to equip optical retailers with the tools to flourish.
“Our long-term future is intrinsically linked to the success of the optical sector; we know how important it is and we also know how tough it is. I hope these new seminars will help equip opticians for the next decade.”
