Registration for 100% Optical has opened with the show promising to “kick off 2020 in style”.
Now in its seventh year, the 2020 show will take place at ExCeL London, from 25 to 27 January. Key seminar topics will cover myopia, glaucoma, dry eye and making the most of social media. The show will continue its partnership with the Association of Optometrists “to deliver a world class education programme for all”. New exhibitor names for 2020 include Marcolin, Raen, Nine Eyewear, Bellinger and Centrostyle.
New and improved for 2020, the Future Practice Hub will bring to life the future practice via a consulting room, diagnostic suite and dispensing area. In each area, tailored CET content will be delivered through discussion and hands-on skills workshops. The hub will also benefit from a seminar space, offering thought-provoking education across all three days on contemporary areas of practice, offering participants a ‘vision for the future’.
The 2020 show will welcome Love Eyewear Week (20-26 January) and the launch of Love Eyewear Awards, a celebration of eyewear designers, manufacturers and retailers, with 12 categories including New Designer 2020, Best Independent Retailer and Most Engaging Practice Window.
Taking place close to the venue for 100% Optical, the awards will champion and promote eyewear amongst independent and major designers, manufacturers and retailers. Entries for all award categories will be reviewed and shortlisted by a jury of eyewear bloggers and stylists. The shortlist will then be open to a public vote, with winners announced at the Love Eyewear Awards event on Saturday 25 January 2020, as part of Love Eyewear Week.
Nathan Garnett, 100% Optical’s show director, said: “As the biggest gathering of people in optics in the UK, 100% Optical in January 2020 could not be better timed to kick off what will be a landmark year for the industry. The new Love Eyewear Awards, Love Eyewear Week and improved Future Practice Hub are just some of the exciting elements of show that gets better and busier every year.
“Our partnership with the AOP, coupled with media support from OT, has helped us develop and curate a show designed for optical professionals, by the very people we are looking to attract. With sustained year-on-year growth, both in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers, the 2020 show is set to be our most exciting and successful yet.”
