100% Optical has extended its opening times to ensure delegates don’t miss out on education sessions.
Due to visitor demand, the event will now open at 9am across all three days, providing a packed programme of learning.
Dr Ian Beasley, head of education for the Association of Optometrists, said: “We’re pleased to be able to facilitate the extended opening times for delegates, which is a first for the show and means people can grab a coffee and network with peers before the education sessions start at 9.30am.
“While pre-booking of education has proved popular, there will be additional capacity for many sessions on the day – you may just need to get in there early to secure your spot.”
Four new CPD sessions were announced earlier this month, including an early-career research showcase chaired by Dr Sam Strong, lecturer in vision science at Aston School of Optometry.
There is also a talk on community eyecare pathways for people with learning disabilities (LDs). This will be led by contact lens optician, Trevor Hunter, coordinator of LD charity SeeAbility’s London eyecare pathway, and SeeAbility eyecare champion Grace McGill.
Other highlights include a peer review on myopia management on all three days with Luan Henson, an eyecare professional consultant for Essilor, and a discussion workshop on Monday in the Optical Academy on domiciliary clinical cases with Zetun Arif, domiciliary partner at Specsavers.
The sessions will provide an early opportunity for 100% Optical delegates to secure points under the General Optical Council’s new CPD scheme, launched at the beginning of 2022.
