ABDO’s head of policy and public affairs, Debbie McGill, is moving on after five years with the Association.
Debbie has been appointed as head of primary care services with NHS Tayside, and will be taking up her new role in January 2023. She joined ABDO in 2018 after 10 years with Optometry Scotland.
ABDO general secretary, Tony Garrett, said: “We are fortunate to have had the skill and dedication of Debbie for the past five years. We will miss her drive and enthusiasm – and I would like to thank her for her service to ABDO”.
Alistair Bridge, who will be taking up the role of ABDO chief executive on 1 January 2023 following Tony’s retirement, will be the main point of contact for policy and public affairs until a new appointment can be made.
