ABDO prizes awarded at ARU

ABDO president, Jo Holmes, attended Anglia Ruskin University’s Graduation Ceremony at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on 18 October to present two special prizes.

The ABDO Prize for Exceptional Effort and Determination in the Ophthalmic Dispensing Degree was awarded to Nevena Ivanovska, while the ABDO Prize for Meritorious Performance in the Ophthalmic Dispensing Degree was awarded to Abid Rahman (Class of 2020).

Jo said: “It was my greatest pleasure and honour to meet Abid, Nevena and their delightful families at the graduation ceremony.

“Enormous congratulation to both Abid and Nevena for winning the ABDO prizes, and completing their qualifications during such demanding and challenging circumstances as we have experienced during this pandemic.

“Both prizes were very well deserved and show the promise of long and fruitful careers in optics.”
