ABDO to launch new CET webinar series

July will see the launch of a new series of monthly ABDO CET webinars, available exclusively to ABDO members only.

Commenting on the new initiative, ABDO head of CET, Alex Webster, said: “We are excited to be able to offer interactive CET that members can access in a new way, without having the expense and time associated with travel to and from a regional event. Each month ABDO will host a new CET-approved webinar, enabling members who complete the session to gain one interactive CET point.”

The CET webinars will feature a wide range of topics across the field of ophthalmic dispensing and associated areas.

Alex added: “We will be working with experts in their field for this new series of webinars, and we are delighted to be working with Professor Christine Purslow [pictured] and Thea Pharmaceuticals for the first webinar. Professor Purslow’s career has provided her with a wide range of experience – from hospital optometry and private practice, to research, lecturing and developing postgraduate education programmes. In 2013, she was appointed head of medical affairs for Thea.”

The first webinar is at 7.30pm on Monday 15 July, and will explore how members may help patients both see better and feel more comfortable.

Upcoming topics for future webinars include, ‘Modern lens manufacturing’ and ‘Reflective practice’.

As with all CET events, there will be a waiting list as required. If members have booked a space and can’t attend, they are asked to cancel to enable another ABDO member to take their place. ABDO will still continue to offer CET through Dispensing Optics and at Regional CET events.
