Clinics will also provide laser eye surgery (image from stock)

Optical Express owner Lorena Investments has stepped in to acquire the Harley Medical Group and SKN Group companies after they stopped trading in July.

The group’s liquidation led to the immediate closure of over 70 branches across the UK and over 450 colleagues losing their jobs. As well as taking over the branches, Lorena Investments said it was looking to recruit as many former group employees as possible.

In addition to clinical aesthetics services and care, Harley Medical Group and SKN Group locations will provide eye surgery primary care, refractive consultations and NHS eye examinations and advice.

David Moulsdale, founder, chairman and CEO of Lorena Investments, said: “I am delighted that we have completed this acquisition, which will save dedicated staff their jobs and, more importantly, reassure patients who have been deprived of the services they paid for.

“This is a huge opportunity for the entire group, given our mutual dedication to delivering exceptional patient care. We know that commercial success is impossible without clinical excellence and by making patients our number one priority, that is what we will achieve,” David added.
