Eyecare professionals have been invited to register for a conference being held for the first time in China next March.
BCLA Asia, organised by the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) in conjunction with the West China International Myopia Control and Eye Care Symposium, will cover topics including myopia control, dry eye management, contact lens care and specialty lenses.
The event takes place on 8 and 9 March 2024 at Chengdu New Exhibition International Conference Centre, and will feature latest research and clinical guidance, ‘hands on’ opportunities to try out industry-leading products, and the chance to hear about recent innovations and future strategies.
BCLA chief executive, Luke Stevens-Burt, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this event in China for the first time and looking forward to delivering an engaging and relevant programme that covers some of the most important topics in our field.
“The conference is an opportunity to continue the growth of the eye health industry in the region and enhance delegates’ knowledge and skills to benefit eye health. Along with the sharing of best practice, there will be plenty of opportunities to network with colleagues and the wider contact lens and anterior eye community.”
Sessions will be in both English and Chinese and delegates can apply for BCLA Fellowship – with submissions closing on 30 November 2023.
Delegates living in China must register in-person at the venue; all other delegates can visit the BCLA website to register online in advance.
There are plans for a three/six-night tour following the conference if enough delegates are interested, with a tailored package available. The tour will include the opportunity to explore the cultured, artistic and culinary city of Chengdu in Sichuan province; discover the markets, traditional courtyards, crafts and cuisine of Chengdu; and view ancient Buddhist monasteries, stunning mountain scenery and China’s famous pandas.
There will also be an option for a basic package which includes the conference, transfers and accommodation only.
