The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) has named Alcon, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care as its platinum sponsors for 2023, including of the BCLA clinical conference and exhibition in June.
BCLA chief executive, Luke Stevens-Burt, said: “We are delighted to once again be able to count on the support of Alcon, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care – three titans of the eyecare industry and some of the world’s leading names in contact lenses and the anterior eye. Their backing is fundamental to the work we do in showcasing the latest in contact lens research and education, leading to enhanced knowledge for eyecare professionals and improved patient outcomes.
“We look forward to working with all three companies throughout 2023, particularly at our flagship clinical conference and exhibition. We would also welcome the support of other brands and manufacturers within the industry. By working together we can do so much more.”
The BCLA clinical conference and exhibition is designed to showcase world-class, clinically relevant research while nurturing new researchers, clinicians and young academics to present at this level.
Delegates will have the chance to hear from keynote speakers including Frank Schaeffel and Dr Gregory Sawyer while the BCLA Medal Address will be presented by Professor Eric Papas, and Dr Sonia Trave-Huarte will deliver the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture.
Each of the sponsors will have representatives supporting a new BCLA initiative to develop contact lens practice guidelines – as well as support the second BCLA CLEAR initiative, focusing on presbyopia, due to be published next year.
