The British Contact Lens Association (BCLA) is seeking a new deputy academic chair with a passion for optometric education and research to “inspire a new era”.
Chief executive, Luke Stevens-Burt, said: “This is a rare opportunity to make a valuable contribution within the optometric landscape, shaping one of the most pre-eminent conference programmes in this space.
“Our new deputy academic chair will lead, shape and deliver our academic provision, with a specific focus on our highly prestigious conference programme as we grow our reputation as a global leader in contact lens and anterior eye education.
“This is an opportunity to inspire a new era for the BCLA and support our growth and development ambitions through delivery of educational activities within the contact lens and anterior eye specialism.
The main focus will be on the clinical conferences and BCLA Asia. The deputy academic chair will also offer guidance and advice to officers and council about education for members, including online certificates and associated assessments.
