To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Silhouette’s iconic Titan Minimal Art (TMA) design, the style is to be reinterpreted by students from the acclaimed Polimoda Fashion School in Florence, Italy.
Weighing just 0.07 ounces, students in the fourth year of the school’s undergraduate course in fashion design will use the eyewear’s lightness as a starting reference point.
Then after an in-depth journey into the art of creating eyewear, the students will learn how to transform a visual concept into a tangible product for the Polimoda Graduation Show during Pitti Uomo in Florence.
The undergraduate in fashion business course will then offer a second focus for the collaboration, enabling students to apply theoretical lessons learned to a real brand experience: eye-catching pop-up stores leading to a possible flagship store and window installations to increase footfall.
“With this collaboration, we are merging Silhouette’s iconic minimalism with cutting-edge creativity,” explained Michael Schmied, a member of the Silhouette founding family and current CMO.
“Together, we are inspiring the next generation of designers to push boundaries, paving the way for a visionary revolution in eyewear.”
