Eyewear supplier Eyespace will hold its first digital Green Summit on Wednesday 19 January from 7-8pm GMT.
Designed to help practices “futureproof with sustainable thinking”, the online event will see Eyespace founder and CEO, Jayne Abel, and the company’s product director, Emily Andrews, outline sustainable practice in eyewear design, business management, operations, marketing and communications.
Jayne, who is also chair of the Optical Suppliers Association Sustainability Committee and took part in ABDO’s inaugural SEE Summit on the Environment in October 2021, commented: “The optical industry sits firmly within fashion culture and we need more than token gestures. Our innovations are driven by an informed awareness of the modern climate crisis and our responsibility as business owners to be custodians of our industry, monitoring and managing its impact on the natural world.
“We are passionate to prove that greener solutions are practical, commercial and attainable. We aim to change the way the optical community thinks and provide choices for opticians and patients so they feel empowered to make the right decisions for the future of our planet.”
