The Federation of Manufacturing Opticians (FMO) has decided to postpone Optrafair 20/20, due to take place at the Birmingham NEC on 4-6 April.
FMO chair, Stuart Burn, stated: “Having monitored the Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation carefully and listened to FMO members’ views and concerns over the last couple of weeks, the FMO board has today unanimously decided to postpone Optrafair 20/20.
“The decision has been made in consultation with the NEC and MA Exhibitions and having taken advice from the UK government and public health authorities.
“The health, safety, and wellbeing of Optrafair 20/20 exhibitors, visitors and staff has always been our number one priority.
“We hope that by making this decision now we can eliminate the uncertainty and reduce at least some of the inconvenience felt by Optrafair 20/20 exhibitors and visitors.”
Optrafair 20/20 will now take place from 19 to 21 September at the NEC. All bookings will be transferred.
