A new Focus on Dry Eye Disease section has been added to the ABDO Clinical Hub.
The ABDO Clinical Hub brings together up-to-date research and current thinking to allow dispensing opticians, low vision opticians and contact lens opticians to maintain and extend their knowledge and practice.
ABDO clinical lead, Max Halford, said: “Dry eye disease is something that all of us, every day, encounter in our professional working lives. Our ‘Focus on’ webpages within the Clinical Hub are all about clinical techniques and knowledge that can enhance a dispensing optician’s role as a clinician in practice – and will build up to provide a portfolio of relevant and easily accessible information.
“The Clinical Hub is packed with information and resources, whether you are a student, dispensing optician, contact lens optician or low vision optician. The content is continually being created and is a great source of information for all practice colleagues.”
Focus on Dry Eye Disease adds to existing topics, such as myopia management, a Focus on OCT, a dispensing optician’s guide to eye diseases, plus a section on extended services.
Visitors can also access useful resources such as a guide to acronyms used in eyecare and eyewear, a glossary of terms, as well as links to ABDO’s clinical advice and guidelines, patient leaflets, and information to share with patients.
Max added: “Our thanks go to Neil Harvey for his vital input to this topic. We welcome any feedback and comments as we continue to develop the Clinical Hub throughout 2022.”
Alongside this new resource on dry eye disease, ABDO members will be able to attend a new webinar on dry eye at the end of the month. This will be available to book through the Events section.
