The ABDO Examinations Department has announced a new two-day webinar on 29 and 30 July, free of charge to all final-year students to help them prepare for summer session practical examinations.
As practices reopen, Alicia Thompson, ABDO director of professional examinations, said: “We hope students will soon have the opportunity to complete PQP documentation and case records, and this online revision event will offer more guidance on practical elements before the practical exams.
“We will cover each section of the practical exams, including case records. You will need to register for this event via our website when it goes live in the next few days. Don’t forget the comprehensive FQE revision guide is also on our website.”
The planned face-to-face revision event has been cancelled and refunds are in process to all who had booked.
Subject to any changes in government guidance, practical exams will begin the week commencing 10 August. The number of candidates each day will be limited to ensure safe social distancing.
Alicia explained: “We know many students still have elements of their PQP to complete and that is why we will not close this summer exam session in order to facilitate assessments to allow qualification up until the end of the year if necessary.
“I want to reassure you we have all been working hard behind the scenes to be able to facilitate your qualification during this unprecedented time. We know many of you are concerned about various aspects of completion so please get in touch if we can help in anyway.”
First and second year students will be sent an update the week commencing 22 June on plans for their assessments.
Students with queries should email exams@abdo.org.uk and a member of the team will get in touch.
