GOC agrees fees rise

The General Optical Council (GOC) has agreed to increase the main registration fee by £10 to £415. This equates to a 2.5 per cent increase in line with inflation.

The GOC has also agreed to increase the discount applied to the low-income fee from £120 to £125.

This means the low-income fee payable will be £290, a 1.75 per cent cost increase on the previous year.

Student fees are to be frozen at £30.
