The General Optical Council (GOC) is seeking three new members to join its Companies Committee, which advises on issues involving business registrants.
The GOC says its nine committees need a wide range of expertise to ensure public protection and confidence in the professions. It is seeking people who bring a fresh perspective, can demonstrate effective communication skills and develop constructive and supportive working relationships.
Candidates should demonstrate they can act on behalf of and represent the interests of a ‘body corporate’ registered with the GOC.
They may be an optometrist or dispensing optician or someone not registered with the GOC (such as a practice manager).
Committee members are expected to commit around two to four days a year at a rate of £319 per day. Meetings are usually online via Microsoft Teams.
The deadline is this Sunday 27 November.
