Marcolin has joined the United Nations (UN) Global Compact, launched in 2000 to mobilise businesses to align their strategies and operations with the Ten Universal Principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption. The Global Compact also promotes actions aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
More than 20,000 companies and 2,500 non-business signatories from 167 countries around the world, including more than 500 in Italy, have joined the UN Global Compact to date.
The company stated: “Joining the UN Global Compact is for Marcolin a further step in the group’s commitment to concrete and tangible sustainability. By uniting forces with thousands of other companies worldwide, Marcolin wants to do its share in accelerating change and building a more sustainable future for the generations of today and tomorrow.”
In other news, the company has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with Abercrombie & Fitch Co covering the design, production and distribution of Abercrombie, Abercrombie Kids and Hollister brand eyewear, including sunglasses and optical frames.
“We’re very pleased to welcome Abercrombie & Fitch Co. into our portfolio,” said Fabrizio Curci, Marcolin Group CEO and general manager. “This new partnership will support our growth strengthening our presence in the lifestyle segment for younger customers, in line with our long-term strategy.”
The A&F Co. SS25 eyewear collections – the first to be produced by Marcolin – will be presented in early 2025 and then become available worldwide by distribution through a network of selected stores.
