Dubbed the ‘Masterthief’ by the Inspired Leaders Network, Hamish Taylor will be the keynote speaker at the 2022 National Eyecare Group (NEG) Building for Success Conference in June – open for the first time to non-members.
“From putting flat beds on BA flights with the help of a yacht designer, improving airport queuing times thanks to Disney, and increasing Sainsbury’s Bank profits tenfold by using retail concepts, Hamish is known as the Masterthief for his ability to look at other business environments for breakthrough ideas and inspiration,” commented Phil Mullins, NEG managing director.
“During his keynote speech, Hamish will bring business insights from his astonishing career experiences to date – from working with prime ministers and CEOs to frontline staff – and inspire us with humorous ‘real world’ stories, practical tools and infectious enthusiasm.”
Taking place on Sunday 19 and Monday 20 June at the Staverton Park Hotel & Golf Club near Daventry, the NEG Building for Success Conference will for the first time be open to non-members. Under the ‘Tools for success’ umbrella, delegates will engage with a mix business with
CPD lectures on topics such as myopia management, artificial intelligence (AI) and eye health, presbyopia, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), contact lenses and sustainability in optics.
“Myopia, AMD and presbyopia are the three biggest eye health challenges of our time – and so we’ll be looking at how we can work together to control, treat and manage them,” explained Phil.
Other speakers include Andy Clark of Practice Building on practice profitability, Jayne Abel of Eyespace and James Conway of Millmead on sustainability, Josie Barlow of Menicon on myopia management, Jim Dickson of mark’ennovy on presbyopia and contact lenses, Francesca Marchetti on nutrition, and Andy Sanders of Hoya on myopia control. Professor Pearse Keane and Dr Wen Hwa Lee will present a joint lecture on the role of AI in eye health care.
An exhibition of NEG preferred suppliers will showcase all the latest products and services available supporting excellence in independent eye health care – with special conference promotions available.
The NEG conference is free for members and Optinet users to attend, thanks to support from Title Sponsors CooperVision, EssilorLoxittica and Practice Building; and Headline Sponsors Bausch + Lomb, Hoya, Menicon and Stepper.
“This year’s conference offers our most exciting programme ever – and it will be great to see as many members there as possible. We are also looking forward to welcoming non-members this time, to come and see what NEG and our partners can offer their business,” Phil concluded.
The cost of overnight accommodation for the Sunday evening will include an informal conference dinner, bed and breakfast. A non-members rate is available.
