PAC returns as live event

One of the UK’s biggest conferences for dispensing optician (DO) CPD is now open for registration as it returns to being a live event.

The Specsavers Professional Advancement Conference (PAC), covering optics and audiology, is open to non-Specsavers and Specsavers colleagues. It is returning as a face-to-face event, at the ICC in Birmingham on Sunday 16 October, after sessions last year were delivered online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Delegates include qualified and pre-reg optometrists, dispensing opticians, contact lens opticians, qualified Cert 4 dispensers, hearing aid dispensers and hearing care assistants. Up to 15 CPD points are possible for optics delegates at the event, which features a range of sessions, workshops and exhibitions spaces.

Presenters include Kirsteen Newman, who qualified as a DO in 2009, and now leads the DO career path and training for Specsavers.

“As one of the UK’s largest multi-category clinical conferences, PAC attracts industry-renowned expert speakers and continues to innovate,” said Grant Duncan, Specsavers director of professional development. “This year’s programme has something for everyone. Not only can delegates network and reconnect with old friends, but they can also collect valuable CPD points. Whatever your agenda, our interactive PAC sessions aim to inform, include and challenge – keeping you up to date, and equipping you with skills and knowledge that can be put into practice immediately.”

More than 20 exhibitors including suppliers, professional bodies, academic institutions and charities will also feature at the event.
