Scleral lens fitting event to hit the road

Following the recent launch of its OneFit Med scleral contact lens fitting process in Northampton, No 7 Contact Lenses is taking the event on the road in a series of free educational meetings across the UK and Ireland.

Twenty-eight guests joined professional services director, Katie Harrop, and professional services manager, Ian Sexton, and the No7 team at the Garage in Northampton for the initial launch and social event.

After a discussion by Ian on the Onefit Med philosophy of practitioner control, versatility and ease of use, Katie demonstrated how ‘ease of use’ was built into the whole fitting process – from the laser-cut alignment rings on the fitting lenses, to the online fitting tool.

“The online fitting tool proved to be of particular interest to guests,” said Katie. “The benefits – to patient and practitioner – of seeing a graphical representation of a fit before ordering a lens, were clear to all.”

Commenting on the event, ABDO member, optometrist and CLO, Indie Grewal, said: “The Onefit Med launch event brought together ECPs with differing levels of experiences in scleral lens fitting. Through the evening, we were shown the value of fitting Onefit Med and how it could be integrated into our practice. It was an informative and educational presentation by both Katie and Ian that led to hands-on fitting.”

The series of one-day events will begin on 5 February at the ABDO National Resource Centre, and will include first-hand fitting and assessment coaching from Ian Sextion. There are only 20 places on each event, so early booking is advised.
