SightCare will hold its 2024 conference on Sunday 28 and Monday 29 January at the Telford International Centre.
Bringing the independent optical community together to enjoy two days of business workshops, keynote speakers, CPD education, learning and networking, day one of the event will see delegates share best practice on the patient journey. This will be followed by a social evening with award-winning blind Scottish comedian and writer, Jamie MacDonald, and the SightCare Awards.
The second day will open with keynote speaker Stephen Sykes, co-founder and a director of 2030hub, the world’s first United Nations recognised local entrepreneurial hub promoting the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Stephen will explore the direct and indirect climate, ecological and social pressure points impacting on small independent practices today, such as legislation, consumer demand, NHS requirements and the likely direction of travel for these pressure points. He will also look at the implications for practices along with the practical steps that can be taken and the potential pitfalls for the small independent to avoid.
Day two will also offer business talks and workshops for all members of the practice team covering pricing, private practice, myopia management, spectacle maintenance, social media and digital marketing, glasses styling, staff recruitment, patient recall, artificial intelligence, paediatric dispensing and team management. The event will close with a ‘secret keynote’ sharing their inspirational story.
John French, SightCare chief executive, said: “We are very excited about our 2024 conference. Sometimes we need a little reminder to think about what makes us excited, and how to be a better and more efficient member of the independent practice team. We aim to give our delegates an inspiring experience where they will meet many interesting, intelligent and influential people from the independent optical sector.”
The conference will be supported by more than 40 suppliers.
