Specsavers has been rated at 16 in the world’s 25 best workplaces. A survey of 7.4m employees by Fortune magazine found the business is one of the top firms.

People praised the company for offering opportunities to develop, a great culture and level of care for employees.

Chief executive John Perkins said:  “This is an incredible achievement, and it is a credit to all our colleagues and partners who work hard to make Specsavers such a great place to work.

“I could not be prouder. Our ranking among so many other brilliant organisations on this list continues to drive our ambition in making life at Specsavers truly special.

Certification scheme A Great Place to Work joined Fortune in running the survey. Companies with at least 5,000 employees had to appear on at last five best workplace lists from across the world during 2023 or early 2024 to qualify for the overall ranking.

Specsavers was rated at 23 in the top 50 best workplaces in the UK and at eight in the European list. The firm has been certified as a Great Place to Work in 12 countries.

Organisations are assessed on their efforts to create good workplaces and have a positive impact on people and communities.
