Stepper Eyewear has given £10,000 to Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP). UK managing director Peter Reeve and Liz Shepherd, business development manager, visited the charity’s Birmingham clinic to see their work.
Liz and Peter met clinic manager Claire Wier and optometrist Frank Eperjesi, part of a team providing an invaluable service for people who are often unable to benefit from comprehensive eyecare. Interventions range from reading spectacles to more complex prescriptions, or referral for hospital treatment.
Peter said: “We have supported VCHP for several years and value the relationship we have developed together. Meeting the team, and those who benefit from their work, reinforces our commitment to playing our small part in the extremely valuable service this organisation provides.”
Liz added: “It was a humbling experience to see how something that most of us take for granted, eye examinations and the provision of a life-changing pair of spectacles delivered by dedicated professional volunteers.“
In previous years Stepper has supported the Manchester and Leeds clinics. Find out more about VHCP.
