ABDO has opened bookings for its annual final qualifying examination (FQE) revision event for student dispensing opticians (DOs).
Now in its ninth year, the two-day event aims to help final-year students revise with the support of expert tuition from ABDO practical examiners.
Being held for the first time at the ABDO National Resource Centre on 13 and 14 February 2024, and sponsored by Stepper, students will receive FQE revision support, pre-qualification period guidance, a Q&A session, and lunch and refreshment breaks each day.
Miranda Richardson, ABDO head of professional qualifications and education, said: “I am pleased to confirm that ABDO’s ninth student revision event will take place at the National Resource Centre in Birmingham. Using a separate training kit and based in our own venue, we can help candidates prepare for the requirements of the FQEs through practical skills, revision lectures and open discussions.
“With expert advice and guidance from current ABDO examiners, candidates will have the opportunity to review their own work and techniques in each of the FQE sections, helping to better understand the content and format.
“As at previous events, both days will be instructive but informal, with ABDO examiners there to welcome and help candidates revise the necessary skills to help achieve exam success,” added Miranda.

The cost of the event is £80, and students must attend both days. For more information and to book, click here.
