Trade show charity pledge

The Millmead Optical Group has pledged to make a £5 donation to the British Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal for every order it takes at the Continental Eyewear and Jai Kudo Lenses stand at 100% Optical.

Customers will be invited to donate a similar amount.

The company is also pledging to provide accommodation for a displaced Ukranian family near to its factory and HQ in Liverpool.

Millmead HR manager, Gemma Heston, said: “Although the logistics of the government’s Homes for Ukraine scheme are still being finalised and prevent us from making a firm commitment at this point in time, we are actively searching for a suitable rented accommodation that we can secure and make available to a Ukranian family in need of relocation. As soon as the government scheme has been finalised, we will look to activate this phase of the support plan.”

Millmead is also looking to offer a full-time factory position to a Ukranian national.
