There are no formal qualifications required. However, due to the nature of study we do recommend that all applicants have English at GCSE level 4 (grade C).
There is an expectation that the learner will already be a manager/leader (or working towards such a role) with the ability to apply the skills and experience learned during their qualification.

The course and assessments will be delivered via a Learning Management System (LMS) and as such will be 100% online. Learners will need access to a computer plus internet to complete the course.

Cost includes all learning materials, tutor support, assessments, and affiliate membership of the Chartered Management Institute for the duration of the course.

Each of the Certificates requires 140-160 hours total learning carried out over 3 months.
E-learning or online learning refers to the idea of using online tools for learning. Resources, assignments, quizzes and tutor support are all enabled via a Learning Management System (LMS). This means you will not have to travel at all for your studies.
The courses will be run by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).
The course is suitable for people who are new to a management/leadership role as well as those who have been in such a role for a period of time.
The course ensures that learners have the knowledge and resources to perform their roles to the best of their abilities by formalising any previous informal learning as well as offering new facets of management and leadership.

Upon completion of the qualifications, learners will receive either the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership or the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management & Leadership.
Successful learners who remain a member of CMI will also have fCMgr – Foundation Chartered Manager post-nominals after their name.
No, learning materials will be available via the LMS and also CMI’s excellent ManagementDirect platform.
CMI will only recognise their own qualifications in terms of APL and RPL. So if you have a certificate with CMI at the correct level, you can get APL towards the diploma.

Yes, you will be allocated a tutor at the start of your course. You will be able to contact your tutor via the LMS.
